Factions and Other Groups

Group Name Description (Goals, Resources, etc.) Attitude toward PCs
DVLs (aka Devils) Horde of extra-dimensional beings enslaved until recently to enable the use of magic and power enchantments. They were freed by the Players, who had been manipulated by the DVLs leader Asmodeus, and now can move freely between their dimension and the prime material plane via the orbital gateway stationed above Curabel Enemies
Lolth & Drow A/The Yellow Hat guided Jarlana the high priestess of the drow to the spider box. The party later recovered it. Mixed
Winter King The party discovered an ancient god that lead the ancient elf faction that became the drow has returned/awakened. In Session 62 Lungmold, Brendil, and Ranarth (NPC) pledged loyalty to the Winter King. He is eager to let the Summer Lord and others on the surface deal with the DVLs so he can more easily take over the rest of the Contested Lands. Potential Ally
Summer King The foe of the Winter King and lead the ancient surface elves. Potential Ally
Dragons From another dimension. Their leader tried to monopolize magic. Dragons still have some magic the party does not understand. Potential Ally
Deep Gnomes One of major powers in the underdark. Potential Ally
Silence One of the major powers of the underdark. Coopts individuals to be mind-controlled spies/agents. The party intercepted and killed one working with troglodytes and another on a scouting mission. Once the Winter King takes over the rest of the underdark (Milgram), he will go after the Silence. Enemies?
Parliament of Birds Led by Pollux the Golden Eagle (Source of Rallion's Feather of The Chosen) They long ago swore allegiance to the Summer Lord. Allies
Armada Floating city of the half orcs Potential Ally
Jax Archmage conjoined twins occupying the Silverthrone Embassy in gnome city. Studying the DVL trap. He has learned a lot about it. Ally
Thornton & Midmark Refugees Lord Thornton escaped Midmark and is gathering forces in the Kobold caves near Vargen. Potential Ally

Golden Cat West of Midmark lives a golden big cat like a cougar near a spring similar to the waters of Old Greybeard. Encountered by the original Starchy Boyz. Potential Ally

Under the Sea Shahuagin, Devil Fish, Merfolk, Gareth Sawtooth (Wereshark), Carcas the sandshark - Agmar's folly - They perhaps can't get to the meeting place. (Myrientazus' lair) Potential Ally
The Wardens The Party attended the Parliament of The Birds and convinced them to help the party form an alliance to face up to the DVLs since we know the date of the end of the world. We chose to call ourselves The Wardens. The Party
Stone Gods Evil beings we learned of when Braadlur appealed to them for help. Animating stones in the troglodyte warren and then the arm of one appeared. We defeated the animated stones which closed a portal cutting off an arm. The spell casters charged up their spells and brought two glowing stones. Enemy
Bargeman's Guild of Vargen Symbol BGM. They have underworld ties. The original parties dealt with them in the prior campaign. In Session 67 the party learned that Bogfunk of the Mycelian Gang in Vargen had gotten Dog Froth from them just prior to the end of DVL magic. Enemy
